On this page NetConnect Germany publishes the prices it invoices for positive and negative energy imbalances and which are calculated from the relevant reference prices on a daily basis. Please click here for more information on how the prices are calculated. According to the so-called “GaBi Gas” ruling on the German gas balancing regime issued by the German federal regulator Bundesnetzagentur, the imbalance prices are applied to daily imbalances incurred within a balancing group. The resulting charges and payments are settled between the relevant balancing group manager and the market area manager.
Please note that the positive imbalance price (in German: negativer Ausgleichsenergiepreis) is applied to positive energy imbalances (i.e. inputs > offtakes, long position) and the negative imbalance price (in German: positiver Ausgleichsenergiepreis) is applied to negative energy imbalances (i.e. offtakes > inputs, short position).
Please note that the methodology used to calculate the positive and negative imbalance prices has changed following entry into force of the new GaBi 2.0 ruling.
